I fell about thirty feet on three different occasions. Once when I was 15 an older friend/ acquaintance and I were walking along a ravine in the woods, when he accidentally on purpose, pushed me over the edge. It was approximately a 30' drop. I when I woke up, I found myself laying in so many inches of water; my acquaintance was long gone. Later when I told people what had happened, no one took the story seriously.
There was another time when I was working construction; I moved a ladder over a bit, while standing atop the roof of a 30' high building, which I was working on. I then put my foot on the top rung. Unknowingly I had unlatched the ladders extension. The ladder started to fall, and I flipped over backwards. I caught one of my boots in the top rung; and the ladder slowed my fall. I was upside down as I watched one man on the ground dancing back and forth like one of the three stooges; he was attempting to catch me when I landed. Naturally he missed me. Again I walked away with only minor injuries.
One other time, was when I went skydiving and collapsed the shoot to hard upon landing, and fell the last thirty feet, with a pretty hard landing. Still it doesn't compare with falling 500' feet.

Of course, if you're in the middle of a 500-foot fall, you'd technically be in a 250-foot fall- a far less scary height, which would not grant you a heart attack.
so, you are screwed!

Interesting tips.

Anyway, if I noticed I'm in the middle of a 500-foot fall, I think I'd be so scared that I'd have a massive heart attack. So, I guess I'd be pretty much dead way before I touch the ground.
